Tornado's happen all over the United States around this time of year, including Kentucky. There are many signs to watch out for when it comes to Tornado's and thunderstorms. Our friends at FEMA have some tips and advice to keep you and your family safe during tornado season.
Here are few signs of Tornadoes from FEMA:
- A rotating, funnel-shaped cloud that extends from a thunderstorm toward the ground may be visible.
- A strange quiet occurring within or shortly after a thunderstorm.
- The wind may die down and the air may become very still.
- A loud roar that sounds similar to a freight train.
- A change in the color of the sky.
